Surfers do not have any more familiar brands than Billabong. It was the birth of the industry at all. It was founded in 1973 when it was founded by Gordon and Rena Merchants and in the city of Gold Coaste in the southeast of Queensland. They soon found out that his shorts' stamina was several times higher than the others. Merchant reached her with the triple seam technique. This fact soon shrieked and Merchants started to search for themselves, many of whom came under Merchant's sponsors' wings. In the 1980s, Billabong shorts were available across Australia, during the 1990s the brand expanded to New Zealand, Japan, or South Africa. At the beginning of the new millennium Billabong is available in most countries of the world.
